XIAH junsu – XIAH

A surprise to everyone, Xiah goes solo and shows a side unseen before. HE IS HORNY. Intoxication is hot, sex music that even Kumi would applaud at. It’s not some upbeat dance song surprisingly enough, instead it’s an almost mellow, calmer  track led by a harmonious harp, R&B beats and some beautiful string work during the chorus. Junsu’s vocals are interesting, to say the least. His softer, almost whispering ends up working well with the “explict” lyrics.

Using a way of communicating without words
You’re making me go crazy
More, more until I get swallowed completely

The first b-side is Kanashimi no Yukue. I’m very picky with ballads, and it was a close call with this one since it does sound like a K-Pop ballad at times, but thankfully the Japanese arrangement outshines it. It starts as a simple piano ballad, adding strings during the chorus but doesn’t really pick up until the very end. Even so, Junsu’s vocals and the vulnerable simplicity of this song make it a great listen.

Kimi ga Ireba ~Beautiful Love~ ends the single and is another slow song, although not exactly a ballad. The previous b-side focused on being epic, while this one has a more relaxing instrumental with both acoustic and electric guitars, electronic beats and some nicely implemented synth. The Short Version just cuts around two minutes off the original.

Solo or in a group, Junsu has proven to us with this single that he really is an amazing artist. All three tracks were of great quality and worked really well together, although I would have liked an up-beat song instead of two slow ones. Even so, superb vocals, memorable songs and horny music make this single a success.

I cannot believe the lyrics, they are SOOOOOO wrong but SOOO fit Junsu and himself. I would be more suprised if Changmin came out with something like this but this song is amazing. <3
