Today is finally the day everybody! Tsunku will unveil Momusu’s 9th Gen Audition Winners at Hello! Project’s January 2nd concert, that’s TODAY in Japan! So we’re probably only a few hours away from knowing exactly how hard Tsunku messed up(or actually got it right, which is the least likely option).
Do you guys have a favorite yet? I know I have mine! Unlike previous auditions(well, the 8th gen one since it was the only one I was able to follow), I have thrown my pity out the window! Usually I would feel bad for the talentless, crying, floppy girl but this is no longer the case!
Morning Musume. is at an all time low and they need talented, outstanding members to join the group! That means no more Aikas or Koharus everyone! This time I want the talented to join, the ones who can actually dance and sing. Oh, and someone with personality because 3/3 of the members in MM that had personality just left.
So, let’s meet the five finalists! Here’s the ~exclusive~ training and audition video clips. :D
I was easily able to figure out who I liked and who I didn’t want near Morning Musume. Let’s go one by one!
The Safe Bet, Otsuka Aina(12)
Looks: 3.5/5
Dancing: 4/5
Singing: 4/5
Personality: 3.5/5
Chances of Joining: 50%
Love for Aina is about half and half. Does she seem like the kind of member Tsunku would let join? Yes and no. Her dancing is solid but not anything impressive although she is the second best vocalist out of the five finalists. She could do with a bit more personality since she seems pretty shy. She’s a solid balance, thus why I would add her to the group(MM needs at least three new members to cause some kind of difference in the J-Pop world). Let’s hope Tsunku agrees.
The Hot Flop, Mogi Minami(11)
Looks: 1/5
Dancing: 2/5
Singing: 1/5
Personality: 1/5
Chances of Joining: 90%
Not even lying. Mogi right out sucks. She’s plain ugly(those teeth and mustache don’t help), she can’t sing to save her life and her dancing is horrible. Worst of all, she’s a big fat cry baby and has yet to impress me in ANY way. How the hell has she made it this far? Duh, Tsunku has a soft spot for tears, unfortunately.
I said I would have no pity for sucky possible members, thus why I feel no pity for Mogi. It sucks that Tsunku will most likely add her if he keeps his same choosing technique this time around since she has the most “growing potential” out of all the candidates.
The Pro, Sayashi Riho(12)
Looks: 5/5
Dancing: 5/5
Singing: 4.5/5
Personality: 4/5
Chances of Joining: 20%
What you probably didn’t know about Riho is that this isn’t her first audition. She participated in the Jc&Jk audition andperformed in Momusu’s Fashionable play. It’s nice to see her making it this far(but when you see someone as good as Riho and a crappy finalist like Mogi together, you can’t help but think wtf?) since she is the best candidate to join MM.
She has that idol aura to her and she’s got the best voice and dancing ability. But for that same reason it is very unlikely that Tsunku will pick her since she is already so developed. Again, it would be amazing and I would be ~dazzled~ if she makes it in, but I won’t get my hopes up.
The Weirdo, Suzuki Kanon(12)
Looks: 3.5/5
Dancing: 3/5
Singing: 2.5/5
Personality: 4/5
Chances of Joining: 60%
Kanon is kinda weird… Thus why she stands out from the rest of the finalists. Her singing sucks, and her dancing needs a lot of work. It’s her weird personality that makes her shine(although not much). I don’t necessarily want her in the group, but if Tsunku wants to add four members(oh please), I’ll take her over Mogi any day.
The Natural Beauty, Ikuta Erina(13)
Looks: 5/5
Dancing: 4/5
Singing: 3.5/5
Personality: 4.5/5

My personal favorite! Erina is GORGEOUS, ’nuff said. Her gorgeous smile just beams out so much energy and makes her seem really likable. Her dancing is solid too, but her singing could use some work. This is where she becomes the exception to the case. I want talented members in MM, and while Erina isn’t a good singer, I feel that her personality and looks are more than enough to substitute her lack in vocal talent(think Sayumi 2 but already a better singer).
There’s rumors going around that Erina is already one of the winners due to her Twitter and blog being shut down(typical whenever someone joins H!P). I hope this is the case, because I want her in NOW!

I’ve been reading that fans find the members to seem to young. Actually, all MM auditions have always had finalists this young, it’s just been a long time since an actual audition has happened that the remaining members are almost all at least 18(Mittsui is 17). Honestly, their age comes second to me since they all just seem so mature for their age, especially Erina and Riho.
So who do I want to join? Depends on how many Tsunku’s going to add. I’ll try not to be biased and base it on what’s best for Morning Musume.
1 new member: Riho
2 new members: Riho and Erina
3 new members: Riho, Erina and Aina
4 new members: Riho, Erina, Aina and Kanon
5 new members: Riho, Erina, Aina, Kanon and anyone else in the world except Mogi

I agree with everything you’ve said. ENTIRELY. haha. Erina was my instant favourite when those 5-second clips came out, just cus she’s so pretty! *__* Mogi will forever be awful. I said that about Aika when she first joined MM and she’s now my 2nd fav member of Momusu… but I think I’ll always dislike Mogi. I’m a superficial person and need my idols to be good looking. >___>

I think I totally agree with you on the mentors. xD Except that I just don’t want Mogi in. Although it would be interesting if that happened.
I always root for the underdogs (not Aika) so i want Mogi in, think about it, if Tsunku wasn’t thinking about their growing potential, Konkon and Koha wouldn’t have become a member. I really don’t think he’d let Erina go cos AKB might nab her what with her being a fan. That goes for Riho as well, if he lets her go, some other agency will get her. i’ve got this feeling that all five are going to make it like what happened with the 6th gen auditions.
Konno was actually a random choice. Tsunku even said she was a complete failure all around.
I’ll go with 4 new members: R,E,A,K. Mogi didn’t look like she was trying. Just sayin’.
I think Mogi might be the smartest out of all the finalists. She’s winning her way in by manipulating Tsunku’s soft spot; his weakness to tears. And I bet she’s purposely singing and dancing horribly so Tsunku will see even more “potential” for her. xD
Alright, so happy with the results. Too bad for Aina but we still get 4 new members.

I loved Kannon the second she walked up to the camera, way before she layed down and pretended to talk on the phone. hooray for quirky personalities!!! XD
i think they’ll probably all get in…… you never know modi might turn out as a new konkon…..:/

I hope Riho and Erina get in! Riho is adorable and Erina is GORGEOUS!!! If any of those 2 won’t get picked, Aina or Kanon will do…
Poor Mogi, she cried a lot during the training, but I don’t think she was even trying. I wish Tsunku didn’t have a weakness for tears D: but hey, if he didn’t have a weakness for tears, we wouldn’t have had Koha in MM.
For some strange reason, Aina reminds of Maasa when she was little O.o

Yeah lol. When I read the names of the winners + Mizuki, I was about to scream xD I was shaking a lot, I even posted about it in Facebook.
Riho is adorable, Erina is pretty, Mizuki is pretty, I dunno about Kanon but she seems nice :) So, I guess we’ll have to get used to 2 Suzuki’s, 2 Kanon’s and 2 Erina’s xD

I guess our predictions were wrong, Jin. I thought it was going to be 2 or 3. I’m so glad he added an Egg though because I think they needed to be added into more groups and I’m glad one is in Morning Musume now. I like 9-nin best as well.

Meh. They better not just throw Riho in Eri’s place and stick Mizuki, Erina, and Kanon with Sayumi and Aika in the back. But the plus is…chorus and group parts can finally start sounding different and Ai reacted to the age gap by saying it was huge and crying and trying to cover her worries with laughing. She’s gonna have to get out soon. FINALLY!
YES. I am looking forward to that more than anything. But I also really hope Risa doesn’t graduate with her. Risa would make a good leader now.
