Momoiro Clover – Ikuze! Kaitou Shoujo
It’s nice to see a fresh new group outside of H!P these days and Momoiro Clover definitely leaves you satisfied. They made their major debut with Ikuze! Kaitou Shoujo, one of the better “typical pop idol” songs I’ve heard in a very long time. From the very start, the fast paced vocals, bells, pounding drums, yelling and talking parts all hit you for a perfect first impression and really keep you interested. The girl’s also sounded vocally nice and there’s a nice variety of vocal styles. I love this song simply for it’s energy and how unique it is.
Surprise, surprise! The b-side, Hashire! doesn’t suck! Oh I forgot, this isn’t an H!P single. It’s another pop song but definitely calmer than the a-side and slightly more synth filled. The chorus isn’t as interesting as I would have hoped it to be, but it’s still catchy and the “rap” segment definitely makes up for it.
Yay for newly debuted groups that release singles better than H!P and get better sales! I’ve really fallen in love with this group and look forward to their future releases. Their distinctive vocals and high energy songs are their strong points.

Ikuze! Kaitou Shoujo is Momoiro Clover’s debut major single and it was released on May 3, 2010. It reached #3 on the Oricon Weekly Charts and has sold 23,435 copies.

OMG yea I saw it. Totally agree that they pwned the heck out of everyone else, even if it was lip-synced. Soooo much energy. *_*

Since Momoclo was the first performance at that show, I held every other artist at that standard… and they all fell short. S/mileage was the only other group who did well in my opinion, and that was for a different reason – their singing.
Momoka and Akari~ Akari’s my favorite because she was so awesome in the PV and she SPOKE ENGLISH for her introduction, which is more than I can say for most Japanese artists XD
Lol yea, but I totally DID NOT understand her English the first time. Sounded like a bunch of gibberish. xD
Had to re-watch it a few times and only then was I able to make out the word “smile” in there. xp She’s like a second Sudo Maasa to me so thats awesome. <3
SAME HERE. But it was pretty amazing when I went back to that part and re-watched it. My face was like =O I was super shocked haha. Momoclo’s really grown on me since I first saw their PV :)

Thanks, glad you liked! :D I wanted to use the one with her in black and since I couldn’t find it in HQ, I was going to use it as the site’s button, but I couldn’t get my brain working to match the colors, so I went with a white one. :P
I thought the black one was nicest when I saw the covers, but the white ones aren’t too bad… they make her look like a zombie though -_-;
Yea, the make-up was totally off. >_< That’s why I shopped her a bit in the banner so her face looked cleaner and brighter. xD
Perhaps this is why I can only stand the groups I have seen for the past 4 years. I really can’t like these new groups but for some reason…this song pulls me in and makes me like these girls. They remind me of how C-ute used to be with 7 members *sigh* I sound like I’m talking about 2PM…
Thanks for bringing this to my attention, I personally think this song is alright and they are cute so I guess I’ll save this and remember to get the song later. ^_^
