DEFEND YOUR IDOL!
Unlike how I usually do, this post is to develop civilized and polite discussion(lol) regarding the idols that we all love so much. But no really, let’s try to keep it clean in here guys~
So what’s the point of this post? Well, it’s sort of like an idol attack+defense discussion. You start off by saying which your favorite idol(s) are and defend them by stating why their so flawless and perfect, etc. After that you state why people can like a certain idol that you don’t. It’ll go on from there with you guys defending your idols~ I’ll start ofc~
My top two idols are none other than Kamei Eri and Linlin. I just can’t see how anybody could ever hate/dislike them. I mean, Eri is beyond flawless; amazing singer and dancer, has gorgeous looks and a quirky personality.
Linlin is unfortunately the most underrated and underused H!P member out of all and has vocals that match even Queen Ai’s abilities. I can see how people might dislike her because of looks(she isn’t the prettiest member but she’s still beautiful) and if that’s the case, than it would be a very superficial way to look at your idols.
Now what I don’t really get is how people can like Reina and Sayumi. Let’s start with wonky first. I can agree that Reina used to be pretty awesome with her yankee style and rebelliousness, but now she’s converted into this plastic doll with zero personality and one of the few cases were a members vocals have actually gotten worse.
As for Sayu, yes she’s gorgeous but I don’t see how people can like her personality. Yea she’s ~kawaii~ and everything but cute+her self-indulged, bitchy attitude just doesn’t match up for me. Momoko and Erina for example both do cute right, but Sayu’s just doesn’t work for me. Cuteness has to speak for itself~ I think a sluttier image would work better for her~ ;D
So tell me, why is it that you love your favorite idol(s) and what’s the big deal with Sayu and Reina?

Why do you care if I like them? It’s not like I can’t. It’s all opinion. Where you might think Reina’s personality and yankee fashion has diminished others may still see it (if you ever pay attention to Morning Musume on t.v lately she still has it just not quite so much since she has grown up over the years).
Sayumi is just a very hard worker and I think she needs to be compensated with a decent fan base for it. She put over 7yrs into Morning Musume giving her all for the group when behind the scenes Tsunku is probably still yelling at her like the very first day. I’d have already quit the group so my fandom of Sayumi stems from her ability to withstand so much hate from her producer and the fans alike.
I see you didn’t quite get the idea of this post. Of course it’s all opinion, EVERYTHING is opinion in the internet. And of course you can like them, but you could explain to me why you do.
Well technically I did explain why I like Sayumi. As for Reina, I dunno why I like her but to me her voice is flawless and I’ve heard so many Reina mic hacks and she sounds the exact same way. Her breathing is more even than even Ai-chan in some of them. I actually have a question for you. You hate Reina for a lot reasons that people could hate Ai-chan (her looks, her too superior voice and constant fronting of the group in every sense of the word, being in the group so long, etc) and I’d like to know why don’t you hate Ai-chan the way you hate Reina? I’d take Reina over Ai-chan any day simply for the fact Reina has personality. Ai-chan is like some kind of robot. I thought she’d develop some personality back in 2004 and 2005 but by 2006 I’d just realized she wasn’t going to be one of the personality girls of the group.
I don’t really hate Ai-chan, but I don’t like her either. She’s just “there for me” as you said since she has like 0 personality. But because of that, there’s nothing I dislike about her. I don’t like Reina because I find her overrated and any of Risa/Eri/Linlin sing better than her(imo) and her personality has become generic.
I wouldn’t really call a personality generic. I think for you its just Reina’s been there too long (like with me for Ai-chan). I do wish Risa had more lines and I’m hoping that she will now that Eri is graduating. LinLin has a better voice than a lot of members of MM past and present but Tsunku and UFA just wasted her talent all these years. I hope she’ll get to sing a solo song for her graduation. All the focus of this graduation seems to be on Eri. Two photobooks as well as the center spot for their last single. Yet I find myself wondering why I expected Tsunku and UFA to treat the graduates fairly.
I do wonder why they didn’t milk all three graduates for all they’re worth. They should’ve given them a photobook together. I liked the idea of a last photobook for sixth gens but one with the graduates would’ve been nicer.
You know for all our different opinions you seem really easy to talk to. I dunno…but there’s something about you that just invites. Whenever I read what you have to say I can’t find myself truly mad even if I strongly disagree.
Well I think it’s just that we’re able to accept each others opinions. Not doing so is like the main reason for trolling, etc. So it’s much better for me to accept that you like Reina and Sayu. :3
But yea, a photobook for the graduates would have been perfect. *o* I love photobooks, and one with my three fav idols would pwn.
There need to be more people as mature as you. So many just think their opinions are facts and no matter how hard its made clear to them they aren’t they just don’t get it.
I wish Tsunku and UFA would’ve made that small dream of a photobook of your three favorite idols reality.

I LOVE SHIMIZU SAKI!!!!!!
She’s small (i have a thing about small people (not kiddies)), THE best dancer in Berryz and one oth the best in H!P, Not even wonky can stand up to her in dancing. That those shuffle concerts last year, out of all of the H!P members, Captain was choosen to perform along with Eri and Ai, THE best singers and dancers in H!P. I do wish she got to sing more in that performance but all the same, she had no trouble keeping up. Even Junjun is a Captain fan having come out and said that she really admires her dancing.
As for her singing, she is one of berryz underrated singers. She has always had a decent voice that just keeps getting better and better. The only reasons why she’s kept to the back is that 1)she wasn’t the prettiest girl in Berryz when they first began, 2)she’s really modest or listend to her mother (something most teenage girls don’t do) because this new Berryz Alo-Hello is the first time ANYONE aside from the girls has seem her in a bikini and bot does she look fantastic. 3)she wants Berryz to succeed so if that means sticking to the back that she does it with a smile on her face and with as much energy as if she was in the front.
The only person who can stand up to her energy leavels in Berryz is Momo and to me, momo tends to be all over the place where as Captain is controlled.
She’s beautiful and super talented and deserves a lead in a Berryz single and a PB.
On a different note, Sayu, to me, is the only member of MM that i can see actually getting work outside of MM. and by work, i mean appearing on varity shows and different magazines modeling. I see her slowly pushing Tanaka out of the center position. Yes, her mouth is rotten and yes, she has no singing or dancing talent what so ever, but based on pure appearance, she keeps MM up there. Think about it, once Eri and Junjun leaves, your left with Aichan and Sayu to keep the groups attractiveness going. Tanaka needs to buy a comb and actually use it, Aika needs a new stylist ASAP cos she looked better with dark hair and bangs and as for Gaki, they really need to stop choping off her hair, i swear they hacked at it again for their last PV cos it was growing out nicely and than the Pics for Onna came out and it looks like crap again.
Forgot to add, i’m not a Sayu fan, just some Sayu fans have made me look at her more than i actually wanted to, and now i can actually say that i don’t mind looking at her anymore.
Yea, that’s my deal too. I can look at Sayu, she’s nice too look at, but that’s it. I don’t want to hear her talk or sing. xD
I’m probably digging my own grave by saying this but sadly, I never invested in idol music but loved watching idols on variety shows since I think that’s where they really show their personality. With just that, can I still participate in this post?
Don’t sweat it. I do like girl idol music, but not so much for the guys. I only like Arashi for their personalities and eye-candy.

I love Takahashi Ai so soo much! Shes got everything, the voice, the looks, the body *woot woot*, the lips, the smile, the laugh, the blog, the HUMOUR XD!
She is making a very great leader every momusu cud look up to. Yeah before this i heard people say shes the worst leader, but i just dont understand why. She stands up as much as the previous leaders before. Frankly, i think she portrays that of a sister image to other momusus *awwww*.. i love all the love she gives her members as some of those reach me too~ To tell you the truth, i started of liking Reina very2 much in the start but somehow, i believe doesnt have the characteristics like Ai chan has, humbleness. Yeah, u might say i dont really know ai chans fukui side *brutal* but that just adds up to her colourful attitude. Ai chan is a girl with looks, attitude and skill. Shes perfect to me :) Id die just to have her <3 She has no flaws. Being clumsy? naah, like anybodys perfect. I wish Tsunku NEVER EVER graduate her as that will be THE BIGGEST mistake in entertainment industry. Ai chan fits perfectly in Momusu. Especially as a leader. I dont care about people wanting her to go solo, she is MOMUSU, she is a trademark without her, morning musume WILL never be the same again T_T.. Although, it will be very devastating to see Linlin separated from her soon ~
i am not against any of the other momusu members because i believe each and everyone of them has their own strength which makes momusu, MOMUSU!

I love Linlin to death–it’s going to be heartbreaking to see her go. She has the most polished voice in the group (next to Ai, but Ai has had 9 years to polish her voice in this genre), she’s ADORBZ!!, and she’s so adorable about her Japanese mistakes :P
I am going to do my best to defend Sayumi here though, from MY OWN point of view (lul capz). I used to HATE HATE HATE Sayumi with the burning passion of a thousand suns. I really truly wanted to see her go because of her personality and her singing skills. As a female fan (and a very strong feminist), I think it is much easier to hate her because her public persona reflects many negative stereotypes both our cultures hold about women, and this really hits a nerve for us XX-chromosomed folks. She does seem to be very full of herself and, on top of that, completely oblivious.
But when I started reading her blog and digging a little deeper into la vie Sayumi, my opinion changed a lot. She’s got a much more private side to her that the idol life doesn’t show, and she seems to be much more of a sweetheart than people see. She cares for the environment and does what she can to promote the cause, she likes to cook, and she can be a goof sometimes (not to mention that, yeah, she’s gorgeous). That and the whole Sayu + Linlin = BFF thing gave her lots of points for me :P
This and other stuff I read tells me that I should be reading Sayu’s blog. ._. Heck, I’ll try just so I can appreciate 5-nin Momusu more. :’o
Of all MM I think Sayumi’s the easiest to notice humanity in. She’s so genuinely said when she has to bid farewell to members at graduations. It especially gets people when they see her at Koharu’s graduation, but with her best friend status with Eri since day one MM I wonder if she won’t simply break down. Two very close people to her leaving in the span of a year will be a lot to hold in. Also whenever I see the clips of Tsunku yelling at her during voice training I really feel sick to my stomach that so many people constantly insult her voice. As if having Tsunku say it isn’t enough, and he freaking yells at her like she’s his daughter. She can really take a lot of verbal abuse, I admire that because I was bullied in school right up until my first year of high school. A lot of times I wished I was sick so I didn’t have to go to school. To deal with a huge public’s verbal criticism as well as her own management and producer can’t be an easy task, especially for seven years. And while she can’t sing for very long before her voice goes sour I think one liners and small verses can be done perfectly fine by her. I wouldn’t call any Morning Musume member my idol, but I couldn’t handle people hating them while they’re putting in so much effort.
What I don’t understand is why Reina speaks about herself at times in 3rd person. And I don’t even like Sayumi. Never have. She just always seemed fake to me and the fact that she bitches on her blog…¬¬
My favourite member is Niigaki Risa ever since I saw Sakura Mankai in September 2006, there was something about her that I’ve always liked. But to be honest nowadays, because she still has a baby face she REALLY shouldn’t cut her face ever again. Just leave it long and curly. I’m glad she gets decent parts but I thought after Takahashi became leader, her vocals would be equal to hers but Reina got in the way. ¬¬
I really like Reina. But I think I liked her yankii/bad-ass attitude better back in the first few years she joined. Now, from watching performances, I see that she’s become a bit too idol-y and generic, like you said. I still really love her for her personality though.
Sayumi…meh. I never liked Sayumi that much. Sure she’s cute and she’s photogenic but…she seems so self-absorbed. It’s obvious Tsunku only chose her for her looks because she can’t sing for shit. And the constant “Watashi wa kawaiii~~~~!!!!<33 ^o^" is a.nnoy.ing. Can you get over yourself for three seconds?
I'll say in MM, my favorite member is Risa/Eri–it's hard to pick between those two LOL. Both of them are genuine and have their own spunk. On stage, I ADORE them. They have so much energy and so much fun, they make you want to watch it. Eri's got that goofy and air-headed personality, while Risa's got the head-strong, but lively personality. Love them :3
Oh gosh, this is so hard to pick but…
My top two idols are Okai Chisato and Linlin. My love for them is HUGE. Chisato is perfect for me. Even though she has grown out of her tomboyish image a bit, you can tell it’s still there! She also has an amazing voice, and thank god it’s starting to be put to use FINALLY. She is also very pretty now and used to be super cute. She seems insane and fun, which is what I love about her.
Linlin… she also has a super fantastic voice. Like you said, I would say it can even match up to Ai’s. It’s also unique and unlike the usual higher-pitched, cuter voices that are present in most idols. She is also hilarious! I am realy going to miss her Pocket Morning answers, hers are almost always the best! Plus, she loves food (and never forgets to mention it).
I guess I love them both because they just seem so down-to-earth and relatable to me, since I used to be a huge tomboy (although I’m starting to grow out of it now). And with Linlin… I love food too! Haha. And I like how she isn’t a bombshell. It shows that you don’t have to be absolutely gorgeous to be full of awesomeness.
Hmmm… I don’t really dislike any current H!P members, but i’ll go with the two that are kind of “meh” to me.
Hagiwara Mai first. Her voice annoys me to no end, it’s so, SO nasally and it sounds like she has a really bad cold whenever she sings. I thought it was a bit better in Aitai Lonely Christmas, though. However, she used to be pretty darn cute and is starting to become quite pretty. Also, especially when teamed up with Chisa, she can do some funny things (such as when they put sugar in Maimi’s lunch).
And next… Reina. I have nothing against her voice, really. She just doesn’t stand out to me very much. I agree with what you said about how her yankii attitude is diminishing and now she seems to have a problem with her eye winking to much… but I guess people like her because she is kind of pretty, has a good voice. Also, how she (used to have) has a yankii attitude.
Of course I have to talk about Mitsui Aika. It seems she’s so hated among fans for no other reason than she’s not the prettiest girl in the world. And that is completely shallow. Yet god forbid I say how I hate Sayumi people jump down my throat. Because come on most of her fans like her for her looks. I doubt there’s anyone who likes her “I’m the cutest person in the world so love me” attitude. Yeah she might work hard to become a better singer but 1. it’s not working, and 2. it doesn’t mean that 95% of the time she can walk around with an air of undeserved arrogance. But why am I even talking about Sayu, this is NOT about her.
I absolutely love Mitsui Aika. She is probably the sweetest member in Morning Musume. She seems to genuinely love everything every opportunity she gets. And has an incredibly infectious smile. A lot of people say Aika is boring, and she is to some degree. But it seems that the members don’t really like her. (The only person who seems to be her friend is Reina. And Hagiwara Mai but it’s not like they are together often.) And whenever she tries to be outgoing they get annoyed. Case and point: When she hosted Yorosen she took adorable pictures with the dogs but every member was getting annoyed. But if it was Sayumi they would think it was adorable. And when Aika was trying to teach about dog foods JunJun had to steal the spotlight by eating the dog food.
Aika has such a unique voice. It’s very deep and powerful. Though lately she’s been trying to cute it up since she’s in Guardians 4. When she first joined I literally said she’ll be the leader one day, and I absolutely think she will.
Her love of animals is so adorable. I love how excited she got in Alo Hello-3 just being with a dolphin. The kisses just add to the cuteness.
Agree so much with all of that. It seems that most overseas fans don’t like Aika, but in Japan she definitely has her healthy fanbase.
I think her voice has so much potential, I’m just waiting for her to be given proper lines so she can show it off.

I knew you hated Reina, but I had no idea you also hated Shige too. Sayumi is actually really sweet if you follow her blog. The whole ‘I am the cutest’ thing is basically a character. She says harsh statements which are good for TV, which is why she is featured solo on a lot more variety shows than other H!P members. I love Sayu because she is sweet, adorable, and not perfect. To me a perfect idol has flaws or else they are a cyborg (Mayuyu!). Sayumi’s vocals are improving and she loves Morning Musume. She isn’t the prettiest member either. I find that if they have everything it can be on the dull side; I need a reason to fight.
We all prefer different idols because we see differently. We all have different preferences. I’m from the Midwest so I am quite passive aggressive. I tend to read into the small things because we tend not to say things to one another’s faces. I dislike Takahashi because she gives me the impression that she is conceited. I hate conceited. (Which is funny because most people think Sayumin is conceited.)

Well let me do this by member (I won’t do the girls who are graduating on Dec. 15th).
Ai – Personally I don’t hate her I just think no-one can truly shine with her in the group, not even Reina. I think she’s only really in the group to lend them her amazing voice. While her voice has reached its maximum capacity the others still have a ways to go. I think she lacks personality and doesn’t have leadership qualities. I think it shows in the way H!P performs recently that she can’t lead worth her cute little ass. Pardon my language, I don’t hate her I hate her still being in this group. Last say on this member – If your voice has become something I hear so often that I can no longer hear you when you’re the one singing because I’m desperate to hear another member sing then you’ve been around for way too long. You’re killing this group for me Ai-chan!
Risa – While her voice has not reached its maximum capacity I think it is better than the other girls in the group at present. This is because I’ve heard Risa do just about every kind of song H!P has to offer. She’s done fun and sounded like she was having a blast, done ballad and put so much feeling into it I could cry, done songs where the girls growl more than they sing and pulled it off the best of them all, and done the bubblegum pop vocal for anime stuff incredibly too. This girl’s voice is the most versatile in the group right now and it’s going to waste. Who cares if she has solos, she’s not getting nearly the amount of them that she deserves. Risa also has ever-changing personality something that needs to be exploited but is not.
Reina – Her voice has always been her greatest asset and I’m glad its used so much in the group because it gets better with every coming song. A good way to notice this is the recording of Memory Seishun no Hikari by her and the live performance she did for Single Daizenshuu. Her vocal was much weaker on the recording. I think this girl has a variety of personalities to show the world, and her original ‘character’ has faded because she’s grown up. I love the fact she’s 21 and looks 16. Also she has lots of energy so she won’t collapse under the superior energy of younger girls. Another thing to anyone who hates her, if you’d like to see the group selling like Berryz Kobo and c-ute then Reina should definitely be the one that goes, because at present she is the Abe Natsumi of the group, the face of the group.
Sayumi – She can’t sing well, that does not mean she can’t hold her own for 30 seconds in a song. The reason I love Nanchatte Renai is because she has a lot of vocal on it. And its not an overwhelming amount where she just collapses like she did in Namida ga Tomaranai Houkago. It’s a perfect amount. I also loved everyone else on Nanchatte Renai besides the 8th gens who got almost nothing. I think instead of playing around Tsunku and UFA should make more songs like Nanchatte Renai (in terms of line distribution). She is the third personality of this group. Her outspokenness is an unexploited asset. She’s also a great dancer if you ever get to see this group live.
Aika – While she hasn’t been given enough opportunities to impress the fans she does have a nice voice IMO and she could easily handle the same amount of vocals that Sayumi gets when Tsunku and UFA choose to make use of her. I do believe she’s stale in the personality department but I think she has more of it than Ai does. I think her choice of hair cut makes her look way too old.
Wow I can’t believe this group is still alive. They’re basically a downgraded 9-nin Momusu and draining. Didn’t Koharu graduate last year or something? Anyways:
Ai – Poor excuse for a Goto Maki
Reina – Poor excuse for an Abe Natsumi
Risa – Poor excuse for an Iida Kaori
Eri – Poor excuse for a Yasuda Kei
Sayumi – Poor excuse for an Ishikawa Rika
Koharu – Poor excuse for a Tsuji Nozomi
Aika – Useless addition to the group. No voice, no personality, lacks ability to perform well.
JunJun/LinLin – Poor excuses for the next set of girls that can be linked together in the group. And has anyone noticed when they perform these two are always on opposite ends with the others in the middle. It’s like they’re saying Japan is the center and China just gets in the way. Even more useless additions to the group than Aika.
When will it be time to actually pay attention to this group again? When All 8 of these members have gone. December 15th bids farewell to 3 of them now we just need graduations or scandals for the other five and we’ll be good to go, morning musume will be born anew.
I wasn’t sure where I could do this, but I want to vent so…
Ai – Who the hell deemed her voice as good as those of Goto Maki and Abe Natsumi? Why the fuck did they stick her in Mini Moni. It wasn’t bad enough she hogged lines in Morning Musume she had to hog it in a sub group too. How come they’re still giving her so many lines when her voice sounds like its coming from a robot these days? Seriously ever since Naichau Kamo her voice sounds like its coming straight from a machine. It’s so bland and stale at this point.
Risa – The fuck are you still here for bitch, Ai stops every chance of you shining for real in the group and your voice is sounding almost as machine made as hers.
Eri – Who’s idea was it to make this girl a main vocal again? She wreaks to high heaven.
Reina – Technically she’s the only saving grace in the group b/c she loves the group as much as Nacchi did and holds the same position, but she’s more like a poor replacement for Nacchi than anything else.
Sayumi – Konno Asami left, why haven’t you?! That’s not to say I don’t like her she could do wonders as a hostess on t.v shows.
Koharu – The little freak from Mars who ruined the group for me. Seriously I could’ve dealt with Morning Musume if they hadn’t added her at least until Yossie and Mikitty were gone, instead they stuck a girl who surpasses the vocal disasters that are Konno Asami and Michishige Sayumi, her parents should’ve left her in a dumpster. She killed the 10th Anniversary group for me too, double hate for this girl.
Aika – Useless girl who looks like a boy and sounds like she always has a cold and then she has a dog’s face (and not a cute dog face like Kuroki Marina of SeraMyu fame either). I will throw a party when she’s left the group and get drunk till I pass out.
JunJun – This girl is just boring. She reminds me of Uchida Mayumi or whoever the girl who won the Janken tournament and center spot Chance no Junban of AKB48 both try to entertain but fail miserably some idols have it others don’t these two really and I mean REALLY don’t.
LinLin – Should’ve been a soloist. Her voice is practically begging for a modern enka solo career. Looked like an idiot in most of the performances of Shin Mini Moni (as if they hadn’t butchered Mini Moni enough by changing the lineup to begin with).
Honestly I can’t defend any of the girls in the group now. None of them happen to be my idol and all of the ones I had high hopes for totally let me down.

you all should have known alot about Morning musume by watch it’s DVD Magazine or READ their blog, so you guys know that Sayu’s just making fake dark character so she can appear at many variety. With that character, she through many hard times and Eri always be the one who helped her. And if you read her blog or even watch last mujack episode’s with Momusu being it’s guest, you should have known that each time they finished taping a show, Sayu would go apologize to every harsh thing she said earlier (she do that to london heart’s guests -she said it in her blog and Takamina akb48 at mujack). People who said that she’s annoying, I can tell that they didn’t even know about her and only judge by her first impression. FYI, Eri in her last graduation memorial say that Sayu’s actually has a lack of confidence, and who is Eri? Her best friend. She knew alot more than we know. And my friend who used to hate Sayu before, now is her biggest fan after seeing her blog which is really can make us laugh or cry, she do write about her feeling which is adorable, funny and touching. Plus, when we’re bad at one thing and get abused by it, we can run. But look at sayumi, I believe that many people say harsh thing to her via her blog, and when you read her blog, she really try to accelerating her singing skill, while people only can say harsh thing to her and she keeps on moving and trying, from it I can say that she’s hardworking person. I can see why alot of idols like her, like kojiharu akb48, from idoling too (I forgot her name), scandal band member, and many more. People just won’t know about her, so they hate her, I bet that they didn’t even trying to know about her, yet telling alot of things like they’re really know her, so I laugh. LOL
Well let me do this by member (I won’t do the girls who are graduating on Dec. 15th). Ai – Personally I don’t hate her I just think no-one can truly shine with her in the group, not even Reina. I think she’s only really in the group to lend them her amazing voice. While her voice has reached its maximum capacity the others still have a ways to go. I think she lacks personality and doesn’t have leadership qualities. I think it shows in the way H!P performs recently that she can’t lead worth her cute little ass. Pardon my language, I don’t hate her I hate her still being in this group. Last say on this member – If your voice has become something I hear so often that I can no longer hear you when you’re the one singing because I’m desperate to hear another member sing then you’ve been around for way too long. You’re killing this group for me Ai-chan! Risa – While her voice has not reached its maximum capacity I think it is better than the other girls in the group at present. This is because I’ve heard Risa do just about every kind of song H!P has to offer. She’s done fun and sounded like she was having a blast, done ballad and put so much feeling into it I could cry, done songs where the girls growl more than they sing and pulled it off the best of them all, and done the bubblegum pop vocal for anime stuff incredibly too. This girl’s voice is the most versatile in the group right now and it’s going to waste. Who cares if she has solos, she’s not getting nearly the amount of them that she deserves. Risa also has ever-changing personality something that needs to be exploited but is not. Reina – Her voice has always been her greatest asset and I’m glad its used so much in the group because it gets better with every coming song. A good way to notice this is the recording of Memory Seishun no Hikari by her and the live performance she did for Single Daizenshuu. Her vocal was much weaker on the recording. I think this girl has a variety of personalities to show the world, and her original ‘character’ has faded because she’s grown up. I love the fact she’s 21 and looks 16. Also she has lots of energy so she won’t collapse under the superior energy of younger girls. Another thing to anyone who hates her, if you’d like to see the group selling like Berryz Kobo and c-ute then Reina should definitely be the one that goes, because at present she is the Abe Natsumi of the group, the face of the group. Sayumi – She can’t sing well, that does not mean she can’t hold her own for 30 seconds in a song. The reason I love Nanchatte Renai is because she has a lot of vocal on it. And its not an overwhelming amount where she just collapses like she did in Namida ga Tomaranai Houkago. It’s a perfect amount. I also loved everyone else on Nanchatte Renai besides the 8th gens who got almost nothing. I think instead of playing around Tsunku and UFA should make more songs like Nanchatte Renai (in terms of line distribution). She is the third personality of this group. Her outspokenness is an unexploited asset. She’s also a great dancer if you ever get to see this group live. Aika – While she hasn’t been given enough opportunities to impress the fans she does have a nice voice IMO and she could easily handle the same amount of vocals that Sayumi gets when Tsunku and UFA choose to make use of her. I do believe she’s stale in the personality department but I think she has more of it than Ai does. I think her choice of hair cut makes her look way too old.
