Berryz Kobo’s New HBIC
Let me start off by saying that Kumai Yurina is my least favorite Berryz member. I don’t hate her(like I do with Sayu and Reina), only except when she steals Queen Miyabi’s spot light.
Yurina is plain, uninteresting, can’t sing, an awkward dancer(thanks to her height[see the Iida Kaori-effect]) and let’s face it…
TALL AND BORING
Her face reminds me of a Koala. Or am I just wrong?
Anyway, the ever solid Berryz Kobo’s newest single “Shining Power!” will be out next week and the PV was leaked not too long ago. Let’s just say that I was ~dazzled~, ~shocked~, ~amazed~ and it was four minutes of shaking and crying.
Risako who?
As you can ~obviously~ tell, Kumai Yurina takes the center position this time around(after placing “4th” by getting less attention than Miyabi in recent singles) and let me just say that HOMEGIRL OWNED IT.
At first I didn’t think I was going to like it but it was something about Kumai that just made me almost fall in love with her. It could be her tall-ness combined with her being the only one with pants/long leggings(then there’s Maasa…) that bring all the attention to her. Or maybe it’s how she doesn’t at any point leave the center spot.
What it actually is is how happy she looks having all the attention. Compared to Risako, who almost looks dissatisfied during her solo parts, Yurina is just gleaming with authority and she looks flawless. And let me add that those highlights in her hair just add to it all.
Am I bitter that she got more parts than Miyabi? Not at all. I usually would be, but since she handled it so well(she still can’t sing though), I’d rather applaud her than be bitter. Plus, Miyabi gets tons of lines and I’m almost sure she’s the one who sings the most after Yurina.
Tsunku should consider giving each girl her own center position in a single, with this being the first. Can you imagine Saki or Miyabi taking the center position with all of their awesome-ness? EPIC.
What did you think about Yurina being the center? Did she pull it off or does she just seem out of place?

I also thought she did a FANTASTIC job. Her being so tall and, like you said, enjoying the center position made her seem like a tower in Berryz, and she kind of brought the group together?
And holy moly, she’s actually wearing platform shoes?! Girl must be over 6 feet tall with those on.
She looked absolutely gorgeous. I think she did an awesome job.
See, I can have a soft spot for anyone as long as they do something like what Yurina did~ ;D

Yurina’s always been one of my favorites, so it was awesome to see her in the center. Risako really did seem to be whining on the inside the entire time…made me giggle.

Yesh! Yurina is my favorite Berryz member :3 even though I can accept that somehow her voice has gotten worse and worse over the years instead of improving xD However, I do love her so much! and I’m super happy she got to be center for this single!! :D I hope it does well sales-wise and my bb Yurina can go back to being at the front with Miyabi, Risako and Momoko :D
